Standing still
Keeps my elementary heart
Full
This love
Cut me up again
Like paper planes
I'm being held so delicate
Till soft decent
This love
I feel my heartbeat strong
Bump-bah-bum-bum it goes
It sounds so right
When you're close
Bump-bah-bum-bum it goes
I wonder why you do this to me
So effortlessly
I wonder why you do this to me
Bump-bah-bum-bum it goes
I wake early morning
And stare out at the sky
And wonder what you're doing
So pre-occupied
Haven't heard from you in a week
But that's ok when we don't speak
Cause my heart goes bump-bah-bum-bum
To your heart
I wonder why you do this to me
So effortlessly
I wonder why you do this to me
Bump-bah-bum-bum it goes
Hmm it goes
Up and down
Im faster than you
Free me now
Cut me right through
Is this all we’ll know
Is this all we’ll ever know
Thoughts get formed
But you’ve got the sweetest eyes
Your side, still warm
Still warn
And I grasp, but you’re gone
Don’t wake up
Stay with me instead
Forget the world
Outside of your pretty head
Is this all we’ll be
Is this all we’ll ever be
Hold my hand just like you use to
Your side, is still warm
is still warn
And I grasp but you’re gone
Falling fast
And falling now ever free
I give my love
but you give it back to me
Is this all we’ll know
Is this all we’ll ever know
Coming down
But you say the nicest things
Put on my record that sums up the day
Flips to the B side then back to the A
Coldness washes over me
As I sink into filigree
Can’t stand still
find it hard to breath
Stay a little longer
Don’t leave me high and dry
Stay a little longer
I need more time to sink in
To this new life
But I’ll be fine
I’ll be fine
Put on my record and look around my space
No sign of changes, just the absence of your face
Your things lying on the floor
I guess you didn’t want them or me anymore
Empty handed walking out the door
Stay a little longer
Don’t leave me high and dry
Stay a little longer
I need more time to sink in
To this new life
But ill be fine
Stay a little longer
Don’t leave me high and dry
Stay a little longer
I need more time to sink in
To this new life
But ill be fine
Ill be fine
Standing still
Adrianna Miranda is a Brisbane born, Melbourne based emerging artist. Her hauntingly beautiful vocals tied with the raw elements of piano squeaks and room creeks give a stunning mix of both power and vulnerability in all of her songs about life, love and loss.
Her debut EP ‘Doctor’ has been years in the making. It began as a piano based concept EP that she wrote in her bedroom which was only supposed to be used as a cathartic release of her previous love then started work with both Tyson Ruth (Studio Truth) and Michael Page to bend and shape these songs into individual chapters, each unique in their own right, involving musician friends to sow in their own ideas and experiences of love.
Adrianna has already started work on her follow up EP (part b) and is currently working on the short film that will hold hands with ‘Doctor’.
